Our mission & model

About Kanzu Code Foundation

We believe talent grows when opportunity meets preparation. We exist to help emerging African technology talent develop practical skills, gain meaningful experience and access opportunities to put those skills to work.

Our mission

To discover, develop and deploy emerging African technology talent.

We want more talented people to move beyond learning technology into applying it to real challenges, building professional confidence and creating economic value.

What it means in practice

Discover. Develop. Deploy.

01 — Discover
Find the talent. Open the door.

Identify and engage people with an interest and aptitude for technology. Help them see opportunities to participate, contribute and grow.

02 — Develop
Build more than technical skill.

Provide practical exposure, mentorship and opportunities to strengthen technical skills, problem-solving, communication, teamwork and professional responsibility.

03 — Deploy
Connect people with real work.

Connect prepared talent with meaningful assignments, supervised project work and income-generating opportunities where their skills can make a difference.

Our history

From learning to opportunity

Our early work centred on practical technology training, software engineering programmes and internships.

Those experiences reinforced an important lesson: learning is only one part of preparing somebody for a technology career.

The ability to work with clients, understand requirements, communicate progress, solve unexpected problems and deliver a useful solution is developed through experience.

Today, we build on that foundation by connecting our alumni community with real projects and offering technology services that help support the work of the organisation.

Our model

Impact and sustainability, together

We believe nonprofit impact and financial sustainability can strengthen one another.

When organisations commission projects through the Foundation, we can create paid opportunities for technology talent.

When customers choose our hosting and supporting technology services, they contribute to a recurring revenue base that helps sustain our operations and mission.

We also welcome partnerships that expand access to practical learning, mentorship and work opportunities.

Our goal is to build a model in which useful technology services and meaningful talent development reinforce one another.

Part of the wider Kanzu ecosystem. Kanzu Code Foundation shares its origins and commitment to technology with other organisations in the Kanzu ecosystem.

We operate independently as a Ugandan nonprofit, with our own mission, activities and service responsibilities. Our primary focus is developing technology talent and connecting it with meaningful opportunities.
